EL-DE Haus, officially the NS Documentation Centre of the City of Cologne, is the former headquarters of the Gestapo and now a museum documenting the Third Reich.
Left: “The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (NSV), meaning ‘National Socialist People’s Welfare’, was a social welfare organisation during the Third Reich. The NSV was established in 1933, shortly after the NSDAP took power in Germany. Its seat was in Berlin.”
Middle: “The Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung (NSKOV), meaning ‘National Socialist War Victim’s Care’, was a social welfare organisation for seriously wounded veterans as well as frontline fighters of World War I. The NSKOV was established in 1934 and was affiliated to the Nazi Party.”
Right: “The National Socialist Teachers League (German: Nationalsozialistische Lehrerbund, NSLB), was established on 21 April 1929. Its original name was the Organisation of National Socialist Educators. Its founder and first leader was former schoolteacher and Bayreuth Gauleiter Hans Schemm. The organisation was based in Bayreuth at the House of German Education. On 27 October 1938 the NSLB opened its own Realschule for teacher training in Bayreuth.”
